The competition is to find the twelve most popular astrophotography photos submitted by members.
These twelve photos will be used to form the monthly pages of the Cotswold Astronomical Society Calendar. The front cover will be the overall winner from the previous years competition.
There are no categories for submitting photos, so it will be open to all genres including; solar, moon, planets, comets, meteors, deep sky, stars, aurora, clouds etc, etc. In fact any category relating to astronomy.
When submitting photos attach as much detail, as appropriate, of how it was captured such as camera type/make, filters used, exposure times, telescope, mount, lens, processing software, tracking software and any other information such as date, location, Bortle Sky estimate etc.
The twelve most popular photos will be included in the calendar.
If there is no clear favourite out of the twelve selected then further judging to determine the favourite will be required.
Don’t forget to add your name and title of the photo.
By submitting your photos to the competition you agree to them being used in the calendar.
Timetable;
- Submit entries until the end of August (you may submit as many as you like)
- Judging and Results in September. The winner will receive the Dan Turton Trophy.
- Calendar processed ready for sale by November.
- The Dan Turton Trophy for Astrophotography will be presented at the Christmas Social.
