    Hello All,

I use and Orion Starshoot 3MP Planetary Imager and AutoGuider. The imaging works fine and so last week I decided to try out the AutoGuider using PHD, which Orion recommend for this device. Unfortunately PHD could not connect to the camrea and after searching through a few WEB forums I found that this is a known problem with newer versions of this device. The solution is to install ASCOM Platform 6 onto your PC and then load the ASCOM driver. I tried this but at the point in the PHD setup when the driver properties have to be confirmed the error message below is returned:

    Driver setup method failed: “ASCOM.ASCOM_SSHRPIAG.Camera”
Unable to find an entry point named “SetGainPCT” in DLL ‘sshrpiag.DLL’.

    (See attached screen shot).

PHD then fails to connect to the camera.

Does anyone have any ideas as to what I am doing wrong or how to get around it?

Alternatively, can anyone suggest an alternative to PHD for driving the AutoGuider…?

Thanks – I will take a another look once I have confirmed that the camera still works (I forgot to lock the roof of my roll-off observatory and one of the recent gales decided to roll it off and then deposit large quantities of water on the equipment! I won’t make that mistake again….)
